Two Philosophies In Life
Simply stated, there are two philosophies/theologies in life. One is formed by doing what is right in one's own eyes - the appetites and feelings of the gut become thy god. The second is formed by looking outside of oneself - to neither be wise in one's own eyes nor trust one's feelings and appetites. As a person learns to fear God, they learn to receive wisdom, instruction, and understanding from outside themselves - from Another. Thus, a philosophy/theology that establishes a person within themselves is not only foolish but is utterly worthless. What good is a philosophy/theology that points a person back to themselves? Only a philosophy/theology that works despite and often contrary to one's own eyes, feelings, and appetites has merit in giving prudence to a person navigating within this life under the sun.
