Fear And Death?

 
Hiding in, with, and under the emotion of fear is the feeling that we won't be safe.  And so, fear becomes our ally - it is better to be safe with fear than step out of fear and not be safe.  Alas!  This naive view of fear and life is unfounded though.  When have we ever been safe, especially from death?  The only safety that we know of is the security and safety of the holy ark of the Christian Church, where we are promised to be protected from the Second Death (i.e., eternal) and sustained through the First Death (i.e., physical).
